Foreign students in Busan from Feb. 18 can receive up to 13% off Express Mail Service (EMS) to ship things abroad.
The Busan Metropolitan Government said it signed an agreement with the city's regional office of Korea Post to support such students and promote Busan as a global tourism city.
Under the deal, foreign students in the port city will get a discount on EMS fees and exemption from financial transaction fees at post offices. Busan is the country's third city to offer such benefits following Seoul and Gwangju.
The latest measure means such students get a 10% discount on EMS service at any of Busan's 190 post offices. They can also receive an additional 3% discount (except for EMS premium service) if they make an advance registration on the app or website of the Korea Post.
To get this benefit, foreign students simply need to present their residence cards specified by visa type like D-2 (international student), D-4 (general trainee) or D-10 (job seeker) at a Busan post office.
